Friendship Appreciation Post

Friends

Before you start reading this post you should know that it is going to be cheesy. I never really feel like my friends always know how much I appreciate them so I thought this might be a good way to show them. I am one of those people who would drive to your house at 2 in the morning if you phoned me and you needed someone to talk to. Because of that I always used to expect others to do the same for me. As I have grown older I have realised that not everyone is like that. I have, however, found a handful of people who would do that for me and I could not be more grateful.

Being a good friend does not mean that you have to see each other everyday, you don’t even have to speak everyday. Side by side or miles apart, friends are always close to your heart – Last year was a difficult one and I was literally on the other side of the world to my friends. We had a 7/8 hour time difference but that made no difference. Good friends don’t let things like that stop them. We always made time to speak to each other and there were always messages waiting for me when I woke up. They were so encouraging and supportive and always ready to talk.  When I came back home it was as though I had never been away. That is the mark of a good friend.

I also have friends that are currently overseas and we don’t speak everyday. However when we do speak we send voice notes to each other that are…pretty lengthy! I live for small things like that. Knowing that there is someone that cares enough about you to take the time to do something like that is pretty special.

Friends also don’t even have to be people that you meet in person. I have met such many lovely people online. Some of them are so incredible that sometimes I can’t believe we’ve actually never met. If you want to be friends it’s as easy as commenting below and telling me you want to be 😉

Sometimes I think we take our friends for granted. I think that occasionally it’s nice to show them that they’re appreciated. Why don’t you go and send your friends a message of appreciation…after you’ve commented of course 😉

Love,

Kirsty x

This is so true. My best friends are the ones I rarely see as we are far apart, but we are always able to pick up where we left off. Great post 🙂

I was gonna do a post like this soon, so it’s crazy I’ve just stumbled across this! I also believe we take our friends for granted, but I have become even more thankful for my friends recent,y (mainly because I’ve deleted the toxic ones from my life). Great post lovely! X

This is such a sweet post! I totally agree that distance means nothing when your friendship is strong! One of my good friends is off travelling in central South America for a few months and I know we’re going to talk just as much as ever when he’s gone! 💗 Thank you for sharing!

This is such a sweet post! My best friends have known each other for 6 years now, we’re all at different stages in our lives and at at least one point each of us have been either living abroad, living at the other side of the country or away all summer on holiday. It’s gotten to the point where we don’t see each other for much more than once a month nor talk everyday but that makes absolutely no difference to the strength of our friendship 🙂

Ah it makes me so happy when I hear stories like this! I love those friendships when you don’t have to speak everyday. Those really are the best kind – it just proves that no matter where life takes you you will always have eachother!
