Why it’s important to be organised

I am currently on holiday so I made the decision to write a bunch of blog posts, and take photos, so that I didn’t have to stress about it. So far, I have failed. I have been on holiday for a week and I have left every post until the day of. To be fair, I have been cleaning my room and doing other important things but I have still failed with regards to my blog planning.

So the time is 13:40 and, until I sat down a few minutes ago, I had nothing to write about. While I was thinking about what to write I thought about the fact that I had not been as organised as I had hoped and I knew that that right there would be my post for today.

Here are some reasons that I think it is important to be organised.

It decreases stress

If you plan, and work ahead then you don’t have to stress about the task being completed on time. It will just be a given that it will be. You will also know when your deadlines are and what you need to do each day to achieve your goals.

It helps to plan fun

You might be wondering how it does this so I am going to tell you. If you are organised and you know exactly when your deadlines are and what you need to do then you will know when you can take some time off and just relax.

It is fun

Okay, so maybe this point isn’t for everyone but I, for one, love being organised. I like to know exactly when and where I need to be places, and also how long I have until I reach a specific deadline. Also, just think of all of the cute stationery you can buy because, you know, you NEED it in order to be organised 😉

You can prioritise

When you know exactly what you need to do it is easier to prioritise. This wasy you can do the most important work first. If you are overwhelmed and don’t know where to start then you run the risk of forgetting to do something or not getting something done in time.

You’re ready for anything

If you are organised then you will be ready for anything. If someone invites you out at the last minute then chances are you’ll be able to go because you won’t have a mountain of work to do at that point. Obviously this is not always going to be possible but it is certainly something to think about.

I also wrote a post about ways to get organised if you’re still lacking inspiration 😉

These are just some of the benefits but I hope that it inspired you in some way! Would you say you are pretty organised? Does it work for you? Let me know in the comnents below!

This was really helpful as I’m really unorganised and an extreme procrastinator and I always leave homework and studying until the last minute and end up panicking and being really stressed. So I’ll keep this in mind xx

I’m in full agreement with you here, girl! Organisation definitely makes me feel more in control and less stressed, and that includes everything from uni work to blogging! Great post!

Being organised does decrease stress but it must be kept to a certain point only. Being a control freak is not cool either. I like to be spontaneous and take mast minute decision which make organization a bit hard but yeah, I still think your tps are great 😉 xx corinne
