If you know me, or if you follow me on pretty much any social media you will know about my love affair with England. It started about 16 years ago and it’s never really gone away. 11 years ago I was lucky enough to actually go to England and the minute I touched down in London I was hooked (more so than before). When I started planning on going back to the UK I knew that London would have to be at the top of my list.
My sister and I landed in London and made our way to our hotel. After walking for what seemed like forever we finally found it and dropped our bags off. We started exploring right away. There was so much to see and do and I had a list a mile long. All of the tourist attractions I had done the last time? I wanted to do them again! Walking around the streets of London made me smile the biggest smile.
On our first day we did so much! We visited the Lego Store, M&M’s World, and I had my very first taste of Costa Hot Chocolate – OH MY WORD IT WAS DELICIOUS!
At the end of our first day we met up with one of my sister’s friends and a friend that I had made on Twitter. Abbie and I have been speaking for years so it was great to finally get to meet in person!
The next day we were up bright and early to go to the Santa Run. My sister and I dressed up in Santa suits and did a 5km run (walk) for charity. It was a lot of fun and we got medals afterwards! My very first 5km medal!
This was also the day that I made it to Harrods. I told myself that the next time I went to London I would go to Harrods and buy something…and I did. It has just now dawned on me that I never took a photo of what I bought. Keep an eye on my instagram in the coming weeks and I will share it with you!
Having been pretty much in love with the royal family for most of my life I definitely wanted to take a trip to Kensington Palace. The outside is absolutely gorgeous.
I will admit that the inside was alright. The best part, for me, was seeing Princess Diana’s clothing. It was incredible. Such beautiful pieces!
There is also information for each outfit with a picture that explains and shows where and when she wore it.
After I did my usual Twitter research (a poll) it seems as though most people would prefer to read 2 shorter posts rather than 1 super long one. So come back next week and I will fill you in on what happened next.
I also did a post with only photos from Madame Tussauds which you can look at here.
Have you ever been to London? What is your favourite thing to do? If you live there then please give me some recommendations of lesser known things to do for my next trip!
