My Biggest Challenges as a Blogger

I love being a blogger. I love writing posts, taking photos and editing them. It is something that I enjoy, but that does not mean that it’s an easy thing to do. Today I am taking you through some of the challenges that I face as a blogger.

Content

There are so many things that I would like to blog about but I just can’t. I would love to do fashion posts, but I have no one to take photographs for me. Sometimes I want to blog about things but I worry about the questions people might ask, or what they might think of me.

Lighting

I like to use natural light and I don’t actually have any other lights for photographs. I take a lot of photographs over the weekend because during the week the light isn’t that great by the time I get home from work. But when the lighting is bad, or when the weekends are full of rain (which is my favourite by the way) the lighting is not very good.

Post Ideas

This, for me, is slightly different to content. When you blog regularly it can be difficult to come up with new blog post ideas all the time. Sometimes I sit in front of my laptop for ages trying to come up with ideas and it’s not always easy. I am just going to do a shameless plug here and say if you are looking for content ideas feel free to look at these posts:

Time

I have a full time job, and as much as I would like to say that working full time and uploading several times a week is a piece of cake, it’s not. Over weekends I spend a lot of time blogging and taking photographs because during the week it becomes a lot more difficult. I am quite hard on myself if I miss an upload but unfortunately my paying job has to come first.

Views and Interaction

When you work really hard it can be disheartening to find that a post you thought was really good gets no views or comments. Obviously blogging is not just about people reading your posts but it sure is nice. I think that this is one of the most difficult things for me. Interaction just isn’t as good as it used to be and it does make me wonder if that’s because of my content.

So there are some of the challenges that I face as a blogger. If you are a blogger then what are some challenges you face? Let me know in the comments below!

Love,

Kirsty x

When I noticed the notification from your page and saw the topic of this post – i just had to click to the post. The same with me regarding certain photos that i would like to take, but it’s difficult to take photos of yourself.

As regarding to ideas – it’s just the opposite – i have more than enough and i also belong to FB Groups and in those said groups some nail themes are being listed for the month etc for us to do. Just that I don’t always have the time to spend the time that I would like to. Firstly I have job that pays me hardly a living wage, but it takes a lot of my time – also in the media outlet.

There are days that I simply just don’t have the energy to write a blog. The photos are already taken, but write the content aren’t always there.

Sometimes I write and spend a good amount of time on my blog, but hardly get any views.

I am so glad that you have so many content ideas! I really struggle so I definitely admire people that have that part of their blog sorted! Don’t let the views get you down – it is hard, I know! As long as you enjoy it 🙂

I admire you for blogging with a full time job. I think for that reason alone, you’re doing brilliantly. My biggest downfall has to be photography. But I’m focusing on it a lot more ATM and starting to see small improvements so that’s great (: we can never stop learning as bloggers xxx

Thank you! I agree completely. There is so much still to learn but we’ll get there 🙂 x

I totally feel the same, especially when it comes to content and photography. I have no one to take photos of outfits, and even if I did, I am far too awkward (I’m my own worst enemy). Also, I try to be as creative as possible when it comes to taking photos, but I often lack inspiration. I try to make it all work with my little iPhone though. I also completely understand the feeling of disappointment with the lack of interaction after posting something wonderful.

I would probably be ridiculously awkward trying to take outfit photos haha but I would love to try! I try and be creative for photos but sometimes the inspiration is just not there! Your blog is lovely though x

Honestly this list couldn’t have been more true. I’ve struggled a lot with time myself. Between working full time & just life, sometimes there isn’t enough hours in the day. I get you girl.
