Sunset Cruise in Cape Town

Sunset Cruise-min

For those of you who don’t know, I was in Cape Town this past weekend. It was my sister’s birthday on Monday and she decided to have a sunset cruise to celebrate.

We went on the Tigresse Sailing Catamaran which is a pretty lovely boat with quite a bit of seating space inside and outside. I love this boat because some of it is undercover for those who prefer to stay indoors…so to speak!

The cruise starts in the Cape Town harbour and then heads out towards the sea. The view is absolutely beautiful from the moment the boat starts moving until the moment it stops. There is never a dull moment and there is always a beautiful view to behold.

Seeing Table Mountain, and the shoreline, from the sea is absolutely stunning. When the stadium and the mountain line up it is yet another gorgeous view.

When the sun sets, the boat stops. Literally. We all just sat and stared at the sun setting for a good 5-10 minutes. The view was breath-taking. Photographs cannot actually show you just how gorgeous the view was.

While we were going back towards the harbour, we came across another boat on the water and the photo opportunity was too good to pass up!

On the way back you can see the whole of Cape Town lit up in lights and it is one of the most beautiful sights that you will get to see – definitely worth it!

While sailing, we each got a complimentary glass of sparkling wine which, for those who drink it, is a lovely treat. You can also take your own food and drinks on board which is lovely because you can even take a picnic basket and have that while you are cruising around.

The entire cruise lasts for an hour and a half and is R280 for adults and R140 for children. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a lovely evening out.

Have you ever been on a sunset cruise before? Would you be interested in going on this sunset cruise? Let me know in the comments below!

Love,
