Valentine’s Day Date Ideas

Date Ideas-min

Some people find it difficult to plan dates for Valentine’s Day because some things are so clichéd or aren’t special enough. I have put together a list of date ideas that are not only fun but hopefully some of them are things you might not have thought of and can be of some help. Also, because not everyone is interested in the same things or has the same budget I have decided to put quite a large variety of date ideas on here.

So if you’re stuck for good ideas then look no further. Here are some of my favourites:

Be a child again and go paint-balling – you’re being active and it is something you might not often do. Also, it does not take the whole day so this could be one part of the day.

Take a cooking class
If one or both of you are not very good at cooking (and even if you are) taking a cooking class and eating the meal together afterwards could be quite fun.

Cook for each other
If going somewhere and taking a class is not your idea of fun then why not each make a different meal for the other person.

Have a sleepover
Okay, so I know that this might seem silly or boring but put your pyjamas on and grab your favourite snacks. Each choose a movie and agree that you’ll watch whatever the other person chooses. I’ll take The Notebook, thanks 😉

Take an art class
Even if your guy/girl is not arty, having something that was made by them that will remind you of them every day will be quite special.

Weekend getaway
Plan a trip to somewhere nearby and spend the weekend away from everyone and everything and just enjoy each other’s company.

Get outside
Do something outdoorsy like a hike, or something more adventurous like zip-lining or bungee jumping. Anything that gets your blood pumping!

Picnic in the park
It doesn’t have to be a park but pack a basket of your favourite things. Go find a nice spot where you can just relax and forget about life’s worries.

Go on a tasting
Yea, this is another food one but if you’re really into chocolate or wine (or anything else that they have tastings for) then this could be a really great opportunity to try new kinds.

Go to a carnival
If you’re lucky enough to have one of these where you live then definitely make use of it. I have always dreamed of a guy winning one of those giant stuffed animals for me. Yes, I’m THAT girl!

So I hope that this list has been somewhat helpful. Hopefully there are some ideas on here that you might be willing to try. Do you have any special date ideas or plans for Valentine’s Day? What is the best Valentine’s Day date you have been on? Let me know in the comments below!

I’ve always wanted to to take a sushi making class with my hubby. He needs a bit more convincing for that one though! Great suggestions for the day of love.

Paintballing is such a great idea, I would love it if I was taken on a surprise date to do that on V-Day! A less painful but equally fun option is laser tag, I highly recommend that as well! An art class is a fab choice as well, even if you’re both awful it’s something to bond over ?

You’ve come up with some very interesting and original ideas here! Me and my boyfriend don’t really have any plans for Valentine’s Day yet, but we did just go on a city trip to Prague. It’s a very romantic city, so I guess it does kinda count as a Valentine’s weekend getaway, right?

These are such unique date ideas! Unfortunately my boyfriend lives 700km away so I won’t be able to do any of these things for valentines day but I’ll definitely keep them in mind as anniversary ideas. 🙂
