Ways to Be Organised in 2017

I pride myself on being a pretty organised person. I cannot live without a diary or planer of some sort and honestly the more I have the better! But is it possible for me to be more organised? Absolutely. Today I thought that I would do a post where I share some tips on how to be more organised this year. Hopefully you find them even a little bit helpful!

Get a Diary

This one seems a bit obvious but buy a diary for yourself. The reason I like having a diary is that I can easily see when I need to attend different things and also when things are due – normally for work!. I love that each page is dated as it helps me keep track of what is happening, and when.

Plan Ahead

Where possible, try and plan ahead. It does not matter if you need to write a blog post, or prep for an important meeting. Do not leave things until the last minute. Obviously this is sometimes unavoidable but try your best to get things sorted before the due date. This will make you less stressed and also give you more time to plan.

Schedule Social Events

This does not mean that you should schedule an hour or two to see your friends and then abruptly leave when your time is up. It simply means that you should put your social engagements onto your calendar. This way you can plan work/studying around when you are going to go out. It will help you to stay on top of both your job/studies, and getting out and seeing people.

To-Do Lists are your Friend

I always carry a notebook with me to write things down that I need to do. It just helps me to concentrate on what I need to do without getting frazzled or completely distracted. If you do not like the idea of carrying a notebook around with you then try getting an app on your phone to help you list things that you need to do.

Use a Desk Calendar

But why do I need a desk calendar if I have a diary?! Make up your mind, Kirsty! Well, the reason I love desk calendars is that I can see things whenever I am at my desk which means that it is always on my mind. I just like the comfort of having a monthly calendar on my desk as I can quickly see what things are coming up, without having to page through my diary.

There are so many different ways that you can get organised this year but these are just a few of them. Can you think of any more? Will you be trying any of these? Let me know in the comments below!

i bought myself a life planner this year and so far it really is helping me have everything in one place. I feel a lot more focused, and I am able to track what I am not getting done and pushing off for the next day.
