Today’s comparison is a comparison of the two foundations that I own. Yes, I only own two foundations. I just find it so difficult to find ones that suit me. I would also honestly rather buy other makeup products because foundations are always touch and go. Is it going to suit my skin? Will it make me look like a Dorito? Such a stressful process.
The two foundations that I own are the Essence Camouflage 2 in 1 Makeup and Concealer in the shade 10 Ivory Beige and the NYX Stay Matte but not Flat Liquid Foundation in Creamy Natural.
Both of these foundations claim to be full or high coverage. They are both buildable and can definitely get to be high coverage.
I find the Essence foundation to have a slightly fuller coverage as it is better at covering my pink cheeks. I do feel as though the colour of the Essence foundation matches my skin better and, at the end of the day, my skin hasn’t turned orange which is a win for me. It is quite runny but it is easy to apply and goes on smoothly.
The NYX foundation has a decent coverage although I do sometimes use a little bit more to cover up my pink cheeks. By the end of the day the foundation has definitely changed colour and is a bit darker. This foundation is a bit thicker but also applies well.
So which of these foundations do I prefer? Well that is a tough one. I like the formula of both of them and the colours are both good. I will probably end up buying both of these again because I do like having options. However, I would like to try some other foundations.
The Essence Camouflage 2 in 1 Makeup and Concealer retails for around R80 and the NYX Stay Matte but not Flat Liquid Foundation retails for around R140.
