Lately, I have not been a very good blogger. I have been missing uploads and I haven’t been very active on social media…and I don’t like it. I know that other people probably don’t notice that. I doubt there are people who constantly check my blog to see if I have uploaded a post, or creep me on instagram, but I notice. However, sometimes life gets in the way and, no matter how hard you might try; it becomes incredibly difficult to do certain things.
Lately life has been super stressful. There has been so much going on and it all comes down to one main reason. I HAVE MOVED! Yes, I am no longer living in sunny South Africa. Instead, I have moved over 14 000km to the beautiful city of Krakow, Poland. I got a teaching job over here and I knew that I had to accept. I love Europe and living in Europe has been a dream of mine for as long as I can remember.
However, this means that the past 4 months have been full of packing, visa issues, goodbyes, and so much more. I left home almost a month ago and I have been going non-stop ever since. I only had two days to get my classroom ready before the children came back and, if you know me at all, you will know that I like to do so much work on my classroom so the time constraints have been really difficult!
The people that I am going to be working with seem really lovely and are super helpful. It also helps that there are other new people as well so I don’t feel completely alone. But, just like any big move I definitely think that it will take some time to find my way and for Krakow to feel like home.
Also, I don’t speak Polish. Obviously this can be a bit difficult at times but hopefully I will pick it up. I would definitely like to start speaking it and can probably say about 5 words so far so that’s a good start, right?!
So, there you have it. That is why I have been so quiet lately. However, hopefully now that I am finally here and am starting my life here I can start blogging regularly again and share more of my travels and adventures on instagram.
If you would like to be kept updated with my new life change then subscribe to my blog to the right of this post, and follow me on social media. I would love to take all of you with me on this new adventure.
Have you ever been to Krakow? What things do I HAVE to do? What places nearby should I visit? Let me know in the comments below!
