When you first enter TravelStart Buses you can choose all of the particulars. Your starting point, destination, your dates, and the number of people travelling. You can search for either a one way or a return ticket. According to the website infants travel for free if they are sitting on the lap of an adult but this is limited to one per passenger.

Once you’ve clicked search you can let the Travelstart buses platform do the hard work for you. In less than a minute I already had a whole lot of different options that I could take. You will be told which option is the cheapest but there are so many other options you can choose from. I was also shown which options were budget/saver/flexi/full flexi/luxury which is always useful to know depending on what you are looking for.

Once you have been shown your options there are different filters that you can choose from. You can choose to filter by bus company (only choosing certain ones out of the options given), by price (you can choose the highest and lowest amount to pay), and you can filter by ticket type. Remember the different comfort that options I mentioned above? Now is the time to filter through them to find what you’re looking for.

After you have chosen your preferred departure times and bus company you can click on the book now option at the top of the page. This will take you to the admin side of things where you need to fill in the passenger information. Here there are 3 different options for discounted tickets. If you are a senior citizen, student, or a child you could get a reduced ticket. However, a relevant ID should be presented to prove this.

Not only is this service convenient for trips around South Africa but it can also be used for trips to other parts of Africa.
