**I received Christmas Under a Cranberry Sky from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review**
Before I start I would just like to have a small moment of celebration for my first book review on my blog – finally! The author of this book is Holly Martin and this is the first of her books that I have read.
Christmas Under a Cranberry Sky is such a cute name and actually fits the book perfectly. When I started reading this book it was so difficult for me to put it down but I started reading again as soon as I could. Honestly, I thought this book would be an easy read with a predictable story line and I was pleasantly surprised.
Piper’s job sounds amazing. Going around the world and reviewing different hotels – yes please! That sounds like such a fun job and I would definitely want to do that
The Stardust Lake Hotel sounds idyllic. It definitely sounds like my ideal place to go. The name is absolutely adorable and the resort itself sounds perfect. Christmas is my favourite time of the year so the fact that the whole village turned into a Christmas village sounds like it would be the most incredible experience. Who else would like to move there because I am so keen!
This story is absolutely beautiful and has some surprising twists and turns along the way. I love the interactions between Piper and Wren – it is truly a beautiful relationship. Gabe is just… well… he sounds absolutely amazing and he is the most incredible father. I love the way that he interacts not only with Wren but also with Piper as well as with both of them together.
One of my favourite things is that every character has their own personality and they all shine through. There are no characters that I really disliked in this book which is unusual. I also have a soft spot for Luke who has a very interesting back story as well.
There are a few things in this book that seem a bit unrealistic – such a fancy plane just for visitors to the island? The resort isn’t yet open but they allow someone to come early? And on top of that they sent a plane for one person? While these things are very unlikely to happen in real life I think that it lent an air of magic to the story. And, with it being centered around Christmas it makes the whole story more special and magical.
There is another book coming in the series and, judging by the ending of this book it is going to be such a good one! I cannot wait!
You can pre-order the book here.
