Here’s how you can help friends who blog

I am going to start off by saying that being a blogger is hard work. It might look like sunshine and roses but when it comes down to it, it takes a lot of hard work and dedication. It is easy to see the finished product and think that it’s just a bit of writing and photography but behind the scenes there is a lot of blood, sweat, and tears.

Remember, for some people blogging is their full time job. So if they have a slow month then that reflects in their overall lifestyle as well. Now if you have any friends that are bloggers then this post is just going to share a few ways that you can help them out. They are all quick, and easy, but can make a huge difference.

Engage with them

Like their tweets on Instagram, reply to them, comment on Facebook posts. Engage with your friends because every little bit helps. I have a friend who often likes my posts on Facebook and it honestly means so much! Also, follow their Facebook page, Twitter, Instagram. I mean I am sure that you already do, but just in case 😉 Also, read their posts! Blog views are a real thing and every single view helps!

Like their photos

Liking a photo on Instagram is so quick but can make a huge difference. Especially with Instagram’s new, and horrible, algorithm. So many people are finding that their photos are getting less likes and comments. A lot of brands want to see how many people engage with your photos. If you are only getting a few likes but have thousands of followers then it doesn’t look too good. Shoutout to instagram for messing that up for us. So like their photos – please! 😛

Share their posts

Giving them a quick RT on Twitter or sharing a post on Facebook takes a few seconds but it shares their blog with a whole host of new people. These are people who might love their blog and end up becoming a regular reader. Of course I am not saying that you need to share every post but if something really speaks to you then share away.

Subscribe to their blog

This honestly takes such a short amount of time and makes a huge difference. Even though you might have good blog stats some companies still want to see how many subscribers your blog has. They want to see how many people like you enough to want to subscribe. If your friends has a blog then please subscribe to them. Also, if you want to subscribe to me you can do so to the right of this post 😉

Take photos of them

I do not mean this in a creepy way, obviously, but offer to take photos of your friends for their blog. For example, I never do fashion posts, not because I don’t want to , but because I don’t have anyone to take photos for me. Nudge, nudge to any friends reading this 😉 but seriously, it can make a huge difference!

Please note that this post is just meant to be a few ways that you can help out your friends who blog. It is in no way aimed at anyone. I have really amazing friends who are supportive of me having a blog and say such lovely things about it! 🙂

Do you have any other suggestions of ways that people can help friends that are bloggers? Let me know in the comments below!

Love,

  1. It’s so nice when bloggers support each other by doing all these lovely things you’ve written about. I always try and support my favourite bloggers xx

  2. So important to support each other, even if you are not into what your friends do. None of my close friends blog but they always share my posts and give me advice1

    1. It’s really lovely that your fiends do that! I agree, it is so important for friends to support each other x

  3. This is a great article. I’ve been blogging for two months, and I was surprised by how many of my friends and family never go to my blog or like my Facebook posts. It’s a travel blog. I’m trying not to take it personally! I feel my content is good. Well, what can you do. Of course two months ago I didn’t know the importance of liking posts and page views.

    1. Thank you! Yeah, a lot of my friends I am sure never read my blog but I am just grateful for the ones that do! On my way to have a look at your blog now 🙂 x

  4. It would make a big difference to me to have friends who subscribe and share my content. None of them do! I don’t take it personally but I try and help other bloggers hoping they might engage with me since friends don’t.

    1. I completely understand that! I wish more of my friends would engage as well. But I am here so I will engage as much as I can 🙂

  5. I totally agree that we need to show each other the greatest support. I also agree that little things like a like or a comment can make your entire day. As for Instagram, for example, I’m very self-conscious and I struggle a lot with posting there so every like makes me really happy. As well as RTs do and all other stuff you mentioned.
